Preventative Carpet Maintenance
Preventative maintenance is the least costly, yet most important and effective means to protect carpet appearance. Since 80% of soil is tracked in by the feet of building visitors and occupants, the goal at this level is to reduce the amount of dirt that contacts the carpet to limit its accumulation.
Components include:
- Walk-off mats at all entrances and hard-to-soft transition points to remove dirt, grease, and oil from shoes before tracking.
- Protective mats in areas where excessive matter is tracked onto carpeted areas, such as underneath a water fountain, coffee bar, or sprint station.
Our Process
- Initial Walkthrough: The technician evaluates the carpet's condition, identifying stains, high-traffic areas, and damage.
- Application of Cleaning Agents: A pre-treatment solution is sprayed over the carpet to break down oils, stains, and soil. The solution is tailored to the type of carpet and the nature of the stains.
- Process: It involves a rotary machine with a cleaning pad soaked in a cleaning solution that absorbs surface dirt. This is ideal for high-traffic areas but generally considered less thorough than other methods.
